Preserving A Legend

January 28, 2018

“The G is a G and it needs to stay a G”

We’ve been lucky enough to drive all sorts of utilitarian, four-wheel-drive vehicles over the years.  Even though we have an insanely immense soft-spot for Toyota’s Land Cruiser brand, the “G’s” mix of luxury and off-road capability is nothing short of amazing.

Ola Källenius, the head of Mercedes research and development, sat down with Autoblog and released a little info about the improvements for the upcoming, 2019 G-Class Mercedes, which you can read more in depth, here.

Thankfully, from the summarized interview, it appears Mercedes will be undoubtedly preserving the rugged, utilitarian styling that identifies the G-Wagen as a G-Wagen.  This particular model will be seeing some performance upgrades and a further refined cabin with more room than previous generations.

We can’t wait for the unveiling.
