1987 GMC V1500 Jimmy 4×4 (K5) – SOLD

A California Native

We hope you all enjoy our most current auction, which is powered by a member-submitted, classic, 4WD GMC.  All facts have been checked and approved, so enjoy!

This 1987 GMC Jimmy is both a classic and pioneer of the full-size, removable top, two-door SUVs offered in from the 70's to early 90's.  Here's an incredibly well preserved, second generation V1500 Jimmy powered by GM's 305 cubic inch, 160hp V8 providing power to the 700-R4 4-speed automatic transmission.  This particular specimen is equipped with manual select four-wheel-drive, automatic locking hubs, 10-bolt front and rear axles and the NP208 chain-driven transfer case.

As seen in the photo galley, this GMC Jimmy is in remarkable shape both inside and out.  All factory trim and accessories seem to be in place and in-tact.  The exterior two-tone paint and pin-striping appear nearly flawless and there are no signs of flaking, chipping or corrosion.  The factory 15" steel wheels with chrome surrounds show very well with no evidence of curb-rash or tool damage caused by careless removal.

The inside is in just as nice shape.  The upholstery has help up well considering this V1500 is nearly 31 years old.  As exhibited in the member's detailed photos, the seats, dash, headliner, door panels and carpeting all appear to be in extraordinary condition.  The dash has been photographed with the matching carpeted cover both on and off.  This cover is particularly useful for hotter, sun-heavy environments and really does protect the original dashboard from cracking and becoming brittle.

Clean being an overall commonality, the chassis and engine bay are also in excellent shape.  Corrosion is not a factor in any way and, in terms of stock appeal and care, this Jimmy appears to have had all components, wiring and routine maintenance correctly administered throughout its life.  There are no aftermarket accessories installed, even the factory AM/FM stereo is untouched.

You will find the most current Carfax report near the end of the photo gallery, which further verifies a well maintained, one owner life.  *As you may know, GMC trucks of this era only had five-digit odometers, so the milage displayed is one time over 100,000 miles.  You will also see this data on the clean, Carfax report.

Second Generation GMC Jimmy's are getting tougher to find and we are very happy to have found this one to share with you.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns prior to bidding, please contact us.

Thank you for looking and good luck!
