Certified mile L300 Delica on Bring-a-trailer

This third generation, 1988 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Starwagon 4WD was recently imported from Japan and received an Automotive Technologies Limited (ATL) “Guaranteed Invasive Odometer Inspection” verifying its current 96,108 mile (154,712 km) to be accurate.

This variant of the L300 chassis is powered by Mitsubishi’s 4D56 2.5L inline 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine backed by a 5-speed manual transmission with manual shift transfer case.

This Starwagon remains in stock form including the front push bar, exterior lighting, interior seating and finishes as well as factory electronics.

The exterior green and white finish shows well.  There are some imperfections in the paint including scratches and rock chips, but the sheet metal is fully intact with no signs of corrosion or past body work.

All exterior trim is present with a slight crack in the passenger side roof trim just above the rear hatch.  The bumpers, plastic cladding, chrome striping and stock mirrors remain fastened to the vehicle with only minimal wear.

The wheels are in nice condition, but do show some wear including curbing, light oxidation and scratching.

The interior is in remarkable shape; the houndstooth style seating has held up very well with minimal wear.  There are no rips, stains or tears to be found on any of the seating. The dash is clean and free from cracks.  The most notable wear can be found on the inner panel of the rear hatch, which has some tears from previous cargo.  The headliner is fully intact as is all the carpeting and original “Delica” stamped rubber floor mats.

Interior electronics have been tested and work as intended.  The factory radio will pick up some stations, but only reads Japanese AM/FM frequencies.  Blinkers, lights, heat, A/C, manual windows and manual locks all work well.

The chassis and engine bay reflect the overall condition of this Delica L300.  The frame is very clean with no rust or structural issues what-so-ever. All suspension, brake and driveline components were inspected and passed without issue.

The engine runs very well and has been very well kept mechanically and cosmetically.  The turbo spools as it should under load. Start-up and idle are flawless as is driving on back roads and highway speeds.

The four-wheel-drive system engages without hesitation in both high and low range.  This Delica is equipped with auto-locking hubs and on-the-fly four-wheel high range.

This Delica Starwagon just passed Maine’s safety inspection valid through February 2021.  A factory owner’s manual, full tool set and two sets of keys are included.
