1991 Mitsubishi Delica Super Exceed Crystal Lite High Roof 4×4 – SOLD

Live, on Bring A Trailer

This 1991 Mitsubishi Delica Super Exceed L300 is a direct Japanese market import and features the more rare Crystal Lite High Roof with built-in retractable shades.  This example has been driven just over 226,000 kms (140,000 miles) and has a clean Pennsylvania title ready for transfer of ownership.

Power comes from Mitsubishi’s 2.5L 4D56 Inline 4 cylinder intercooled turbo diesel engine backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission with Mitsubishi's Super Select 4WD System.  This particular model is fitted with automatic locking hubs as well as a front differential lock.

This Delica L300 is also equipped with many aftermarket accessories including a 6” lift with Rancho Shocks all around, Jaos skid plates and brush guard, halogen off road lights (currently not wired), aluminum slotted wheels with 32x11.50 R15 Dunlop Grandtrek AT1 tires, step bars, Aiba Works roof rack system with ladder and extended, paint-matched fender flares.

The exterior finish is in nice condition overall and shines up well.  There are some paint chips and scratches with touch-up paint present on multiple panels as well as some subtle dings scattered throughout.  There is a small, rust bubble on the top center of the driver and passenger door where the clear coat has slightly peeled. There is also some fading clear coat on segments of the roof.  Overall, the body is very straight and free from structural rust, rot and corrosion.

The interior of this Super Exceed is in very good shape.  This model was essentially the top of the line Delica in its day and received all the high-end treatments offered for this generation.  The seats are finished in a high-grade alcantara material, which as worn very well over the last 28 years. The thick, shag-like carpeting shows very well with minimal staining.  The headliner is also in nice condition with very little wear.

All seating adjusts forward, back and in their full reclining positions.  The rear bucket seats also swivel in a full 360 pattern. The rear bench completely folds down and open and is also removable to offer even more storage.  The factory curtains are missing as are a couple panel covers.

Interior electronics have been tested and function well.  The heat and A/C work in all modes including the rear air controller in the back of the van.  All windows and locks operate as they should as do the interior lights. The refrigerator and hot box located in the front center works as intended and has very little signs of wear.  The pop-up sunroof opens and closes with ease as do the electric shades over the four roof windows in the rear of the cabin. The shades can be controlled from the front and rear of the van.

An aftermarket headunit is installed and is currently only getting 76-95 MHz FM stations.  The CD player does work, but this unit does not appear to have Bluetooth connectivity. The remainder of the audio system is fully intact from factory including the Audio Stage live Jukebox unit located in the rear of the vehicle.

A Nardi Torino Classic Wood steering wheel is installed and the horn feature functions as expected.  The steering wheel has minimal wear as seen in the photos.

The stock altimeter is still intact, but a Blitz Racing turbo boost gauge has taken the place of the internal/external thermometer that was initially installed.  The gauge functions properly.  A GReddy manual boost dial is also installed.

The chassis under this Delica High Roof is very clean with no structural issues what-so-ever.  The lift was installed properly and consists of bolt on components with the exception of the rear axle center shocks.  Those were installed with custom fabricated brackets which meet with a bolt-on crossmember. The whole install is very clean and the ride is very forgiving considering its height and short wheelbase.

The engine bay is clean and appears to have been maintained very well.  Recent work includes timing belt, water pump, new radiator with hoses as well as newer glow plugs.  This Delica starts-up with ease, even on these colder, 15 degree days.

I’ve driven this Delica L300 just over 400 miles both on and off road and have not had a single issue.  It reached about 65-70 mph on the highway and cruises very nicely on back roads and through the city while maintaining good oil pressure, good temperature and boost.  I have not tracked fuel economy, so if you ask, I can only offer an educated guess.
