Work.  Tow.  Haul.  

This 3rd Generation Ram 2500 Cummins was made to work.  With just over 100,000 miles and no signs of rust or mechanical issues, we'd estimate another 250k + left in this powerhouse.  If kept stock and untuned, expect an even longer life.

This stock, 110K mile, three owner, 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab Cummins diesel has only been in Maine for the last two years, according to the clean Carfax report (available upon request).  It was sold new by Orlando Dodge in Florida and remained in that climate until late 2016/early 2017.

This particular model is powered by the Cummins High Output variant of the 5.9L diesel series, which produces 325 hp and 610 lb-ft torque.  It is an incredibly robust setup backed by the 48RE automatic transmission. This example is a two-wheel-drive long bed with Laramie finishes and factory tow package.

As the photos illustrate, this 2500 Heavy Duty is very straight and clean.  The exterior does have some shallow dings and scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary for a work truck.  The wheels are clean and free from corrosion as are all fenders, rockers and cab corners. This was truly a southern vehicle that remained out of New England’s rust-belt its entire life on the road.

Interior finished show well, including the leather seats with suede backings.  Very minor cracking is present on the powered seats and entirely on the top-side.  All the side seams are tight and the back seats are nearly flawless. The carpeting does show some staining, but the headliner is free from dirt, marks and stains.

All factory gauges and electronics work well.  This includes power windows, locks, AM/FM stereo with Infinity Premium sound, CD/MP3 player, power seats, pedal adjustment and brake module.

Mechanically, this Cummins needs nothing.  The engine starts and idles with complete ease and the transmission shifts through all gear smoothly.  There is no blow-by present when the oil cap is removed and the engine bay is stock with no modifications or tunes.

The chassis is about as clean as you can get.  The factory black paint remains fully intact and all mounting points are nearly perfect.  The floors are spotless with no signs of corrosion and the factory finish is also still intact and uncompromised.

The 100K mile scheduled maintenance was just performed as well as many other preventative measures taken to assure this Cummins will give another 100K of trouble free driving.  The following was done in the last 100 miles:

• New Greasable Sway Bar End Links
• New Center Support Bearing
• Full Chassis Grease

This Ram 2500HD is ready to drive and work, tow and haul.  New tires will also be installed once they are received. Maine State Inspection is valid until May 2019.
